KWA Management, LLC, formerly known as West Texas Grant Consultant is located in Lubbock, TX and serves all of the West Texas area working with rural communities in Texas to administer housing grants. THE OPPORTUNITY:
The State of Texas receives millions of dollars each year from HUD to provide safe, secure, and energy-efficient housing to low to moderate income homeowners. The HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) is a type of Federal assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to states in order to provide decent and affordable housing, particularly housing for low and very low-income Americans. The program was created in 1990 as part of the National Affordable Housing Act. It was designed with four main objectives:

Expand the supply of decent & affordable housing in the
U.S.

Strengthen the abilities of states and local governments to
design and implement strategies for achieving adequate supplies of decent,
affordable housing.

Provide financial & technical assistance to states and
local governments to develop affordable low-income housing.
·
Extend & strengthen partnership among all levels of
government and private sector in the production and operation of affordable
housing.
THE SOLUTION:
Many rural communities are
too small to staff employees knowledgeable in administering the HOME
grant. The process to apply for and
acquire funds is a very paper-intense program both for the communities and
homeowners. The smaller rural
communities are often in the most need of what this program is designed to
assist. As a result, funds are not used
and the need for decent and affordable housing in these communities goes unmet. KWA Management, LLC works collaboratively with
municipalities and contractors, bringing them together to help existing
homeowners living in sub-standard housing with low to moderate income levels to
receive the safe, secure and energy efficient housing they deserve. KWA Management, LLC coordinates with homeowners, and
professionals in state and federal agencies and utilizes their expertise in
grant consultation to seek, organize, apply for and acquire options that are
supplied by the HOME Investment Partnership Program via The Texas Department of
Housing and Community Affairs and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
